Draft Video Story

For my draft video story, I have decided to put together a short story on healthy snacks to eat in college, and what they look like. This project idea relates to my course topic because it relates to healthy eating in college. It provides my blog followers insight to some great ideas on how to fill your body with nutrients. (But also with enjoyable snacks!)

The research for this story just came from knowing what to put into my body in order for me to feel full and energized. Also through being an athlete all throughout high school, we were required to fuel our bodies with certain items. Knowing that protein and snacks with low sugar are best for you, I wanted to implement those in my story.

My design process was somewhat simple. I wanted to capture the snacks on film. The main goal was just that the viewer could see what the different snacks were. I also wanted to make sure my audio matched with what was being shown so that the person watching would be able to understand what they were looking at, the health benefits, and how it was a cheap option still.

I collected the snacks on my own time. It was easy to prepare for this video because my friends and I already had the healthy snacks I wanted to put an emphasis on. It was also easy to film since I was able to complete it all in my room.

Using adobe software, I knew I would be using premiere and audition. All I wanted was smooth transitions between different shots I took as well as my voice to dictate what I was showing in the shots.

Technical challenges I faced were forgetting to save the videos in a folder on the desktop I was working on. This just allowed the media I was working on to go missing and I had to just redownload my shots onto the desktop.

  1. Hi McKenna, since there is no video uploaded to your Draft Video Story post, giving feedback will be challenging. However I will do my best and base it off your text on the post. One strength of your post is how you broke up the text into small paragraphs. This makes it really easy for the reader to follow along and understand the different aspects of your research, techniques, technical difficulties, etc. So I would definitely recommend structuring your final post in the same or a similar format. I also like how you gave background information on being a student athlete in high school. It adds credibility to your post because what you put into your body has a huge impact on athletic performance. My only critique would be to add the video! You have great ideas and have a well thought out plan. You are off to a great start!
